DLP Mickey's Magical Party Grand Opening Exclusive Video !

Believe it or not, but i finally found back the High-Definition tape of Mickey's Magical Party Grand Opening i was searching since 2 months and a half! I was invited for the Grand Opening at DLP's big event in March, and filmed everything in High-Definition with my Sony HD camera, and when i went back home i could not find the tape!!

After i looked everywhere i began to thought that i really lost it, and, miraculously it reappeared some days ago! I've uploaded it on Youtube, and now you'll be able to see the whole show! What is particularly interesting is that the Mickey's Magical Party show was during the evening. It's a unique occasion to see it at night as at DLP the show happen during daytime at the end of the afternoon.

Also, the laser effects and the firework were only for this magical evening - as well as the big Mickey head screen with projection effects located on the left of the castle. Finally, i shoot everything from the press photographers location, the best location to take picture or movie.



Due to its length, the "It's party time with Mickey and friends" show video is divided in four parts - the firework is of course on the last one. As usual, you can see it in bigger size directly on Youtube - a double-click on each video will send you on the Youtube page. Also, if all the videos don't appear, just reload the page.

After these four "parts" you'll find another video also filmed that evening. If you ever wondered what a disco party on DLP Central Plaza right in front of the castle could look like, there you'll have an idea. And with a DJ dressed in a Stitch costume! Actually, this "disco party" happened before the show itself. Anyway, enjoy all the videos, you'll feel just like if you have been there on this memorable evening!

Happy 17th Anniversary , Disneyland Paris !

Today is Disneyland Paris 17th Anniversary! Yes, already 17 years since the park opened in 1992, unbelievable how the time goes fast...

To celebrate this, here is a series of high-res wallpaper pictures shoot during the Mickey's Magical Party grand opening last month. All the pictures show the new Mickey and friends show on Central Plaza. Enjoy, and Happy Birthday DLP!













At the end of the party, Mickey was on the top of Main Street Station to salute each guest leaving the park!

Mickey's Magical Party begin in one month at DLP !

I will have a new update later this week with new pictures i've shoot at DLP this week-end and good news are on the program. In the meantime, we will also talk about DLP today as Disneyland Paris has released brand new visuals for each of the new shows and parades of the "Mickey's Magical Party" beginning April 4.

Here they are with a brief description for each show/parade.

First, "On with the show...with Mickey and his friends" will be located on Central Plaza's where new stages are currently being built. Expect a high-octane show as there will be stages in each corner and in the center of Central Plaza. You can hear the new musical theme "It's Party Time" on the belgium Pixie Dust web site.
The Media Magic web site did a long interview - in french - of creative director Kat de Blois who explain pretty well this new concept of "partytainment" : "In front of Sleeping Beauty castle the concept of the show is a "giant party". Whether you'll walk in front of the castle or come from Frontierland or Discoveryland, the party will be there, right in front of you, with a lot of interactivity. In the same way, Disney's Stars 'n' Cars at the WDS will be a reminiscence of a grand Hollywood party, like the Oscars with the celebrities arriving in luxurious cars. Disney characters will arrive in cars at the "Place des Stars" of Production Courtyard, then the characters will move out of the cars, go on stage for a musical number and then will meet the guests and sign autographs. Mickey will be the director."



"Let's Dance...at Discoveryland" with Stitch as the DJ. His mission : warm up the heat of Disneyland with an intergalactic dance stage. Stitch will suddenly appear with his flying saucer and dancers in front of Discoveryland's Star Traders.
Mickey will also be there at Videopolis as it will be transformed in a big movie theatre "cinéma Mickey". Whether you'll be at Videopolis you'll be able to watch Mickey cartoons festival from the first short animated to the one of the 1950's, non-stop during one hour. The bad news is that "The Lion King" show won't play anymore at Videopolis, at least this year.





Minnie will become the charming hostess of a small train going up Main Street, U.S.A...
Basically, it will be the 15th anniversary train, repainted to Minnie's colours and may be with a new musical theme. Have a closer look at the rendering on the picture to discover the new design of the train!





At the Walt Disney Studios a new show/parade: Disney's Stars'n'Cars, a Hollywood extravaganza with the characters of Toy Story, Snow White, Monsters Inc, Mulan, Little Mermaid... and the Disney Villains. Read above for more details. Personal note: Most of the themed cars are coming from the previous cars parade at the Disney-Mgm studios.



And, finally, always at the WDS, the new "attraction" of this year: Playhouse Disney - Live ! which, more or less, is the same show that one can see at DCA but will be played at different times in three languages: french, english and spanish.




The park also launched a new website specially for this "Mickey's Magical Party". Note the use in the design of "balloons". UP! will be released in Europe this summer and i think it's a pretty smart idea from the park to "play" with this balloons image as they will be part of the new Pixar movie. Between UP! and DLP, we're gonna see a lot of balloons this year in Disney's marketing campaign ...



Also on the site, something fun called "Disney Toonificator". Do you want to magically transform yourself in a "Toon"? Go ahead, the "Disney Toonificator" does it for you instantly!

All about Disneyland Paris New " Mickey's Magical Party " 2009 Season !

The last four articles were talking about the "Disneyland Paris that never was", and i will end this year with a new article telling you all about DLP's future, i.e what has been now officially announced for 2009!

Here is a quite accurate translation of the french press release - Note: my french readers will find the original french version below.

Soooo, from April 4, 2009 until March 2010 Disneyland Resort Paris will celebrate "Mickey's Magical Party". For this new year Mickey Mouse invite the guests to live magical moments with a new season full of new parades, shows and attraction.

A new show "Place à la fête... avec Mickey et ses Amis" ( "On with the show...with Mickey and his friends" ) located on Central Plaza's new stage with the Lion King, Jungle Book and Aladdin characters

"Place à la Danse... à Discoveryland" ( "Let's Dance...at Discoveryland" ) with Stitch as the DJ. His mission : warm up the heat of Disneyland with an intergalactic dance stage.

Above and below, the two new 2009 visuals released by the park. My opinion about this 2009 program is that it will be - as expected - a year of new shows although with a new "B" Ticket attraction at the WDS. After two years full of new major attractions and parades, it's pretty logical that the park slow down this year. New attractions will be back in 2010 with at least three small rides in a kind of "Toy Story land" at the WDS. I don't see any major E-Ticket before the 20th Anniversary in 2012 which doesn't mean we won't have new small but sympathetic rides before that date.
