Captain EO now back at Disneyland Paris

That's it, Captain EO is back at Disneyland Paris' Discoveryland. Yesterday June 12, 2010, was the D day for all DLP and Michael Jackson's fans with the usual hysteria that we can find in those circumstances. I have pictures and videos for you below, and remember the show won't last forever, but probably at least two years.

Here is a video of the re-opening, from Disneyland Paris.

More videos with, on the first one, the pre-show movie that guests will watch before the show itself...

And on this last one, the speech of WDI Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald who was here specially for the Captain EO re-opening at DLP.

Please check the important message and special offer below, specially if you don't own the Disneyland Paris book!

Captain EO back at Disneyland Paris : Exclusive Interview of WDI Imagineer Rick Rothschild

Captain EO will be back at Disneyland Paris on June 12 and to celebrate this event here is an exclusive interview with WDI Imagineer Rick Rothschild! Rick, who was part of the team who designed the original concept is of course talking about the return of the attraction at Discoveryland but also reveals that other concepts were first envisioned for a Michael Jackson attraction, back 20 years ago!

I did the interview some days ago at the Cafe Fantasia located inside the Disneyland Paris Hotel at the entrance of the park and it was a beautiful sunny day. So, i've shot some new panoramic pictures and for once - as it is not usual - before you watch the intervew i'm going to show you the place where it was filmed. Click on each panoramic to see them in larger scale.

Here is the entrance of the Disneyland Paris Hotel.

The Cafe Fantasia is located at the 2nd Floor, in the center, where the castle club is and the two main restaurants.

Here is a panoramic shot of the Cafe Fantasia...

...and another one on a different angle.

From the Cafe Fantasia you have a great view on the Fantasia Gardens located at the entrance of the park.

And on the other side of the hotel guests have a great view on Main Street USA.

Okay, now that you know where this interview was filmed it's time for the show with this two parts video of Imagineer Rick Rothschild! The videos are in HD, so watch them in full screen mode!

Let's end this article with this collection of Captain EO high-res pictures that Disneyland Paris just released. Also, if you have 3D glasses i remind you that you can watch in 3D on your computer screen the rare comic-bok 3D of Captain EO released a long time ago. It's HERE.

Captain Eo will be back at Disneyland Paris next July !

That's it, after Disneyland, Anaheim, Captain Eo will be back at Disneyland Paris next July. Although it's not officially announced yet It's a pretty good move from the park as this will be a major news for all DLP and Michael Jackson's fans in Europe - and God knows there is here a lot of Michael's fans. Also, it will bring a "new" attraction in the park when the summer season will begin, and considering that Toy Story Playland won't open before mid-August Captain Eo's return will surely help to bring more guests in the park.

It's hard to say that Captain EO's return fits very well with the "Year of the New Generation" 2010 theme, but it surely will make happy a new generation of DLP fans who were too young 11 years ago and never saw the 3D movie.

Honey I Schrunk the Audience will close late april, so if you're a fan of this 4D movie you have only two weeks to enjoy it one last time. We don't know yet how long Captain EO will stay at Discoveryland and what will be next, so don't ask me!

Captain EO is back at Disneyland !

Yesterday was a day of incredible excitement at Disneyland as Captain EO was back at Tomorrowland! The videos selection below will give you a pretty good idea of yesterday's atmosphere at Disneyland as hundreds of Disneyland and Michael Jackson's fans were there for the re-opening and Legendary Imagineer Tony Baxter too!

Cable TVs were there to cover the event and in the first video below Tony Baxter talks about this re-opening.

The always excellent Inside the Magic also did a great interview of Tony Baxter. Tony answers of course to EO related questions but also talk about his dream to have a 3D Festival with vintage Disneyland 3D movies, and it's a very good idea!

And how was the fans excitement when gates of Tomorrowland Theater opened for the first new screening of Captain EO? Have a look at the video below to have an idea of the fans hysteria!

What did they think when they got out of the screening? Disney Parks posted yesterday a short video which will show you the "awesome" fans reactions.

Twenty-four years after its first opening on September 12, 1986, Captain Eo is back at Disneyland, and Disneyland & Michael Jackson's fans can experience again the magic created by Michael Jackson, Francis Ford Coppola and Georges Lucas. Michael, wherever you are, we salute you!

It's official, Captain Eo is coming back at Disneyland next February !

One month ago i announced to you that Captain EO was coming back for sure at Disneyland and today it's official, EO will be back at DL next February - just one month later than what i previously told you. Apparently the huge success of the excellent "This is it" documentary - 220 Milion $ worldwide in the first two weeks had some effects on the WDC. Hope that they will put it back too at Epcot and that DLP executives will also have the intelligence to put back Captain EO at Paris Magic Kingdom as "Honey I Schrunk the Audience", just like everywhere, is not popular any more.

The good news about this come back of Captain Eo is that 3D effects should be enhanced and Imagineers will probably use the "moving floor" effect from "Honey, I Schrunk the Audience" during some scenes of Captain Eo - like when his ship crashes on the planet, for instance.

Watch for Al Lutz next update on Miceage - may be later today - as i won't be surprised if Al, who was the first to reveal the comeback of Captain Eo, had more details about it. Al in one of his previous update also revealed that Disney intend to keep Captain Eo at DL during four months after what the show should be replaced by "Monsters Inc Laugh Floor" - that's the bad news part of the story - a news which has infuriated Disneyland fans as nobody seems to be a big fan of that show that opened this year at WDW Magic Kingdom. And of course it will also mean the end of 3D movies at DL Tomorrowland Theatre...

In the meantime you can watch without the 3D effects the full Captain Eo movie on these Youtube videos below.

Captain Eo is coming back ( for sure ) at Disneyland next January

According to the Hollywood Reporter - and to my sources, too! - Captain Eo should come back at Disneyland next January. Apparently the huge success of the excellent "This is it" documentary - 220 Milion $ worldwide in two weeks had some effects on the WDC. Michael Jackson " This is It " documentary pays tribute to the Haunted Mansion !

I saw tonight in Paris the Michael Jackson doumentary "This is it". And it's great, really. You should go see it for two reasons: First, the editing is perfectly done and it's almost like a concert. You don't see Michael's death, they stop the movie before. Michael is in good physical condition - he was almost 50 so he don't have the same energy he had at 35, but you definitely don't have the feeling that he was at "the doors of death".

But there is also one very good reason for you, Disneyland super-fans, to go see it and it's this one: They've filmed for this concert-that-never-was a new video for the "Thriller" sequence which was supposed to be projected on stage, and guess what? a big part of it is totally inspired by the Haunted Mansion! No doubt that it is due to Michael's love of Disneyland.

For instance, do you remember the key-keeper Audio-Animatronic that we see in the attraction shaking at the doors of the cemetary? Of course you do. Well, he is in this video as one of the ghosts. Just like the other ghosts which are sit on the chandelier hanging from the ceiling of the Haunted Mansion ball room! And guess what? They had envisioned to have people holding ghosts walking in the walkways during the concert, and the ghosts look just like the one flying in the cemetery of the HM!

For all these reasons, beginning by the fact that it is a great documentary and almost a concert, go see it while it is in theatres, i promise you'll enjoy it!

Captain EO will be back October 28th

Okay, it's not THE Captain EO you're expecting to be back as soon as possible at your favorite Tomorrowland. But the man, the singer, the genius, who played it - Michael Jackson himself - will be back on screen October 28th in the awaited "This is it" documentary.

It will show all Michael's rehearsals for what was supposed to be his grand comeback under the dome of London O2 arena. We know what happened next and how destiny - with the help of some propofol - decided that it was time for Peter Pan to leave the Earth forever.

The movie will be released world wide October 28th, for two weeks only, and here is the trailer.

Michael Jackson, in all intimacy - Rare home videos

I know, we're all overdosed of Michael Jackson news, but the two videos you will watch below are just fascinating. Why? Because these home videos filmed at Neverland more or less 10 years ago shows a Michael Jackson like we never saw him before. A "Normal" guy with his children, if i can say. In this first rare home movie released for the first time today, Michael is here with his two first children - Prince and Paris - and apparently it was filmed for Paris birthday. I can't stop thinking that if the world would have seen this video before, may be he wouldn't have been considered as a "freak" by the rest of the world...

On this second video, the first part is also at Neverland (with a huge kind-of Disneyland castle in the living room!) - and the second part is at Disneyland Paris in his DLP Hotel suite with Mickey, Baloo etc... The video quality is so and so, but it was shoot before the digital era!

Michael Jackson last pictures and " This is it " tour rehearsal video

The whole world is talking about Michael Jackson and this is supposed to be a Disney fan web site, but i thought that these very last images and video shoot two days before his death could interest some of you. After all, Michael was a real Disneyland super-fan.

Michael Jackson appeared healthy in a video clip obtained by CNN of his rehearsal two nights before he died.

AEG, promoter of Jackson's planned London shows, released the short video of Jackson rehearsing on a stage in the Staples Center arena on June 239.

Jackson sang "They Don't Care About Us," a song from his "HIStory" album, as he danced along with eight male dancers.

If you live in Los Angeles, the Staples Center will also be next week the site of Jackson's memorial service. The service is scheduled for Tuesday at the 20,000-seat Los Angeles arena, according to a person briefed by a family representative. The memorial is set to begin Tuesday at 10 a.m. Jackson memorial will be limited to 11,000 fans. Fans wishing to attend Michael's memorial service will have to register for the 11,000 free tickets.

Also, Michael's last home in Holmby Hills will be bought by stylist Christian Audigier - to whom Michael asked to design clothes and collectibles which were supposed to be sold during the "This is it" tour - and will be transformed in a memorial place open for visit.

Michael Jackson at Neverland - Video Tribute

The whole world is under schock of Michael Jackson's death today. As i've said yesterday in my tribute post Michael was the uber Peter Pan, the only one who ever had the means to stay a "Peter Pan" all his life. And, as any Peter Pan he was dreaming to live in his own Neverland. The only difference being that he actually did it, and built his own Neverland.

He was also the only one to have a replica of Main Street Station and the Disneyland railroad...

So let's have a last visit in what was Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch thanks to the videos below.

Michael Jackson died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest

Michael Jackson died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest, according to multiple reports including the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press. He was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his home and had been in a coma at the hospital. Whatever one can think about Michael, i think we can remember all the good times we had at Disneyland with Captain Eo, and most of all, his great great music, specially when Quincy Jones was his producer.

http://disneyandmoretest.blogspot.com/

Michael always said that "he was Peter Pan" and real Peter Pan don't necessarily live old. Michael's love for Disneyland was so sincere that, as we know, he built his own Magic Kingdom at his "Neverland". I think it's fair to say that, of all the Peter Pan who exist on this planet, Michael was the only one who have "pushed" his "Peter Pan syndrome" to the very end - he also was the only one who have no limits - financially speaking - to do it and to escape reality. This was his destiny.

Very sad news, really. We love you, Michael, wherever you are.

Below, a rare video of Michael at Disneyland Paris in 1992 or so, at a time where he was persona grata.

And here is the full Captain EO movie.
